We are looking for a Graduate Surveyor to join our Remote Operations Centre (ROC) in Haugesund, Norway, supporting offshore survey and subsea operations.

This is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates (and experienced professionals), offering real career progression opportunities within an industry leading, forward-looking subsea services provider.

You will develop technical expertise while working alongside experienced surveyors and offshore professionals. You will progress through a structured graduate development program, receiving training and mentorship as you develop your knowledgebase and capabilities as a hydrographic survey professional.

The aim of this unique graduate program is to develop a new kind of highly versatile remote surveyor, who will have a broader knowledge and skill base than is currently common for offshore survey roles. This will set these remote survey graduates apart, providing the core competencies and technical expertise, enabling them to be cross utilised across different shore-based hydrographic survey roles. 

Based in our ROC in Haugesund, you will work as part of a dynamic team, supporting live subsea operations. This is a novel opportunity providing a grounding in all aspects of typical ROV based subsea survey and inspection campaigns. It provides the opportunity to become part of the future for offshore survey.

Key Responsibilities

  • Primarily, oversee the acquisition phase of subsea data collection
  • Support real-time offshore survey and subsea operations
  • Work as a key member of a wider survey team, actively involved in the subsea data production line
  • Assist with monitoring survey data quality, positioning integrity, and system performance during live operations
  • Help identify anomalies and support troubleshooting of survey and positioning systems
  • Collaborate with offshore teams, ROV personnel, and vessel navigation officers
  • Maintain operational logs, shift handovers, survey documentation, and reporting
  • Participate in mobilisation activities, operational readiness, continuous improvement initiatives, and safe project execution
  • Contribute to the creation of new remote working practices and procedures

 

What We Are Looking For

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Hydrographyy, Geomatics, Marine Technology, GIS, Engineering, Geoscience, or any spatially related discipline
  • Recent graduates are encouraged to apply
  • Interest in hydrography, ocean science, subsea technologies, drones and uncrewed systems, digital technologies, and subsea operations
  • Knowledge of survey principles, GIS, navigation, or positioning software is advantageous
  • Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • A proactive attitude, willingness to learn, and ability to work as part of a collaborative team
  • Fluent English, written and verbal
